Brown Viscose Lounge Dress

I got the inspiration from Saint & Sophia website, one of those jersey midi dresses with a wrapped bodice and a long skirt in A-shape. Looking for a similar printed jersey, I found this fabulous viscose in MeterMeter by mind the Maker. With a 225 g/m weight, it seemed perfect for a midi dress. I bought 2 m. 

When it arrived, I forgot about the inspiring dress and let the fabric inspire me about what pattern to make. The initial idea of a midi dress turned into a long dress. If you have fabric enough, why not use it all? I draped over my body and I saw that a long dress would be lovely. 

Then i remembered my previous project and I thought it would be lovely to combine this black and brown jersey with some black jersey remnants I had in my stash. 

So, I simply used the same BurdaStyle pattern and elongated the skirt to the floor. 

I am very happy with the result. I would be a lovely dress to hear at home, but first, I am wearing it outside a few times. I love it.
